Serious Games Chair

Serious Games Chair

This initiative aims to explore the use of serious games for educational purposes. At the chair’s launch, the inaugural roundtable brought together experts who have created both digital and physical games, all focused on experiential learning. These games also provide valuable data for research.

The Chair

The chair’s goal is to develop serious games that can then be used in the various programs at Sciences Po Grenoble – UGA. In addition to working with students, the chair collaborates with faculty members and program directors.

The Serious Games Chair is a continuation of the InterCCom project, which began in 2019 with support from IDEX Grenoble Alpes. As part of a large, international, and interdisciplinary team, five digital games were developed, along with the platform that hosts them and a game design methodology. These games focus on collaboration within international teams (covering intercultural skills, multilingualism, and conflict management), corporate social responsibility, and knowledge sharing within an innovation team. The chair aims to make these games available to students at Sciences Po Grenoble – UGA, as well as to enable teaching teams to develop their own games using the methodology and hosting them on the platform we have developed.

Students can also join the chair’s team: since the project began, it has welcomed about twenty interns! In addition, four doctoral dissertations have been defended using games as a data-collection method, and three doctoral students are currently developing new games as part of their research.
