Innovation is increasingly drawing its inspiration from new forms of organization, particularly innovation communities—whether internal, external, or interorganizational. Furthermore, innovation requires new ideas, concepts, and knowledge that emerge when an organization develops genuine creative capabilities. Thus, viewing innovation through the lens of external innovation communities (companies grouped into communities) or internal innovation communities (communities, capabilities, mechanisms, and routines for innovation) can help advance our understanding of innovation phenomena within organizations.
The Chair in Community Innovation and Creativity aims to develop knowledge, practices, and methods to help organizations innovate by fostering new forms of innovation management, creative capacities, and innovation communities.
