The purpose of this personal data protection policy is to inform individuals whose data is processed by theUniversité Grenoble Alpes , in a concise, transparent, understandable, and easily accessible manner, about the nature of the processing and their rights regarding their data.

What data do we process, and why?

TheUniversité Grenoble Alpes processes your personal data as part of its administrative operations.
This processing is mandatory and is carried out in furtherance of the public interest mission of higher education and research, to comply with legal obligations, or based on the consent of the individuals concerned.

The university also processes data on an optional basis (such as surveys) as well as for statistical and management purposes.

Who processes your data? Who has access to your data?

Local HR managers and webmasters are authorized to process your personal data.

How long is your data retained?

Personal data is retained for up to 36 months.

As such, the university complies, in particular, with the provisions of Directive "DAF DPACI/RES/2005/003 of February 22, 2005, on the sorting and preservation of records received and produced by departments and institutions involved in national education."

How is your data secured?

The university has established technical, legal, and organizational measures to ensure that your data is protected appropriately, depending on its nature and the scope of its processing.

These measures are in accordance with the Information System Security Policy (PSSI) of theUniversité Grenoble Alpes , which complies with the federal government’s policy.

Transfers of Your Personal Data Outside the European Union

Your personal data is not transferred outside the European Union.

What are your rights, and how can you exercise them?

The university processes your personal data as part of its operations, and in accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:

• right to be informed,
• right of access,
• right to correction.

And, depending on the processing activities and their legal basis:  

• right to restriction of processing,
   
• right to data portability,
   
• the right to object or to have your data deleted if it is used for other purposes not required by law, or if it is not subject to a statutory retention period,
   
• the right to withdraw your consent,
   
• and you can set post-termination policies for your data.
