Ph.D. Registration

To enroll in a doctoral program, you must meet the general requirements for doctoral enrollment set forth inthe decree of May 25, 2016, establishing the national framework for doctoral education and the procedures leading to the award of the national doctoral degree, namely:

• Hold a French degree conferring a master’s degree upon completion of a program demonstrating research proficiency, or hold a foreign degree of equivalent level (In this case, you must request a waiver of the master’s degree requirementwhen you apply)
• be accepted by a thesis advisor and a host laboratory to conduct the research.

If the degree requirement is not met, an exemption may be granted to individuals who have completed studies at an equivalent level or who are eligible for recognition of prior learning or recognition of professional experience.

To enroll in a doctoral program, you must find a thesis advisor who agrees to supervise you based on a well-reasoned research proposal. A thesis advisor is a faculty member with the Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches (HDR) qualification who will guide you in your research activities and in the writing of your dissertation.
