Behavioral Analysis of the Links and Mechanisms of Aggression and Its Negative Consequences on the Engagement of Public Servants

The BALANCE project examines the impact of rising levels of incivility and violence by citizens toward public servants (police, firefighters, healthcare workers, and CAF staff). By combining psychology, management, and sociology, this research analyzes how these attacks affect public servants’ mental health and their behavior on the job. The project’s originality lies in its innovative methodology, which uses virtual reality to simulate high-stress situations and measure public servants’ reactions in order to inform public policies aimed at protecting them.
