RISK

The CDP Risk brings together research on risks in the broadest sense. It focuses on studying natural hazards (landslides, earthquakes, floods), how to prevent them, and how to respond once they occur; technological and industrial risks (pollution, dam failures); and mountain risks. Ollivier Taramasco and Geoffroy Enjolras are participating in this CDP, led by Didier Georges (GIPSA-LAB). Their work focuses on financial risks, how to anticipate them, and how to diversify against them.
 
Twenty laboratories are participating in this program, representing five research clusters at the site.
This CDP is primarily structured around the funding of 11 doctoral dissertations, all of which are multidisciplinary because they are supervised by two thesis advisors in different but complementary research fields.  At CERAG, Geoffroy Enjolras is co-supervising, along with Stéphane Girard (LJK / Inria), the thesis of Meryem Bousebata (Inria), and Eline Jongmans is co-supervising, along with Sophie Dupuy-Chessa ( LIG), the thesis of Mina Alipour (LIG).
The ultimate goal is to establish a risk institute in Grenoble modeled after existing institutions at other universities—which are highly interdisciplinary (involving physicians and lawyers, for example)—with a structure organized around specialized chairs. This is WP 4.

In addition, a variation on this risk theme is currently being explored within the framework of the Graduate School, a research-based program.
