From Remote Work to Hybrid Models: How Will We Work in the Future?

With the COVID-19 pandemic, remote work has taken hold at an unprecedented speed and scale. Clearly, it is profoundly and permanently transforming the way we work and paving the way for hybrid organizations, where in-person and remote work are intertwined and where the interfaces within and around organizations are being redefined. Employers and workers see numerous opportunities here, as well as solutions to environmental, social, and economic challenges. However, hybrid work is not without risks for the individuals and communities involved and raises questions about how to oversee and regulate this new way of working. These are the dimensions being explored by four French and Swiss research teams brought together within the Alliance Campus Rhodanien. Their work, research findings, and interdisciplinary perspectives will inform this day of reflection and dialogue between professionals and academics, as we work together to build the hybrid organization of tomorrow.
